Welcome to my World!

Good Morning,

Thank you for stopping by. This isn't my first blog, but it is my first blog for a college course. It is my understanding that over the course of the remaining nine weeks in this term we will explore health and wellness and healing using a mixture of both Eastern and Western philosophy and methods.

While I have kept blogs in the past, they have mostly been located on another host site (Wordpress) and so I am new to the Blogger universe. In addition, I tend not to post very often on my regular blogs, other than the pages I keep on facebook.

As an exceptionally busy mother of two small children at home (3 & 5) I end up finding very little time to sit down and journal anymore. I go to Kaplan University full time, work full time on third shift, have my children during the day with the exception of my son being at school and I do two part-time direct sales/marketing jobs on the side as well as being involved in my local community. People ask me how I do it. My response is that I have no choice. I am in school to change careers and to make a better future for my children. Often I don't get more than 4-6 hours of sleep and more than often I get less.

I look forward to taking this journey with my professor and classmates and hope we can all have fun and learn during this term!

Sandy,
We both are very busy women. My weekends are taken over by work and during the week I nanny, have my own kids, and also am a full time student. I get people all of the time asking me how I do it. I give them the exact answer you have given! I actually pulled a NO-NO yesterday and took a few hours and went on a nature walk and to the beach. I needed it, I found some beautiful shells, and I got to feel the sun on my face and I must tell you it helped my state of mind in so many ways. I never allow myself to be selfish and take that kind of time, especially when I have to work that night, but somtimes you need that happy place if only for a moment.
Sandy, never forget you only get to live once, take those moments and soak them in. I look forward to blogging and getting to know you through class.

I think that one of my biggest stressors is because I am often unable to find "me" time. I am so busy being a mom, a wife, a co-worker and a student I often don't have any time for me when the day is done.

I took a small "me" vacation back in September of last year and went back "home" to Michigan and walked the lake, spent time with friends I hadn't seen since I was 16 and it was so relaxing. I realize how much I miss the beach and the sun now and how much I really need to get outside regularly to help me relax.

I definitely need to learn to live "mindfully" or in the moment.

Thank you for the feedback!

I admire your determination. From your blog I gather that you are not married and having to do this all by yourself. Most people would not even try to better their self. I too enjoy the whole body concept when it comes to health and fitness. I hope to learn more and reinforce what I already believe

Thank you Scott. I am actually married, however the larger portion of family, household and life responsibilities falls on my shoulders.

Wow, Sandy you are most certainly a expert at this blogging thing. I'm that kid still trying to figure out how to ride a tri-cycle. Finding my balance with technology and being comfortable using it. Because like it or not this is the today and tomorrow we face.

I can't say that I'm an expert, but thank you. I have been doing IT/tech support since 1995 but I still have to get help from my husband (who does the same) to help me figure out Blogger. The blogging site I normally use is a little easier to navigate the dashboard, but I am slowly learning this one as well.
